Eggs

Chicken Egg and Quail Egg

Did you know that the average weight of an egg is about 2 ounces, it has 10 % of shells, 60 % of white and 30 % of yolk.

How to choose Egg?

There are severals to determine the freshness of an egg. A common test is to palce the egg between the ear and a strong light. If fresh the white of the egg will appear translucent and the outline of the yolk can be traced.

Another test is to shake the egg gently at the ear, if the egg gurgle or thud is heard the egg is considered a bad egg.

Egg is considered a good source of protein and choline, Vitamin A, Riboflavin, Vitamin B-12, Iron, Zinc, phosporus, calcium, potassium and other nutrients.

Chicken eggs are widely used in many types of dishes. Eggs can be pickled, hard boiled, soft boiled, scrambled, fried and refrigerated. They can also be eaten raw.

I remember, almost every morning my niece requested for egg. Sunny side up is her favorite. And, she really like a boiled quail egg, everytime we went to a grocery store she always make sure she has her quail egg and her chicken egg on the basket.

Other family member want it to be scrambled but i want my egg in friend, mix with onions, tomatoes and potatoes. Oh so yummy! And, for other dish like chopseuy a mixed veggies with lots of boiled quail egg.
